San Jose State’s women’s golf placed 12th out of 15 teams this week at the Illini Women’s Invitational in Medinah, IL.
The first day at the Medinah Country Club with freshman Nastaha Andrea Oon beginning the first round with one-under 71 and two-under 70 in the second round. Oon went two rounds under par which tied her in 10th place. The Spartans ended the first day in 11th place at 593, four shots behind Purdue.
The final day finished with Oon in the top-10 for the second time this season and 11th time in her Spartan career. She shot an under-par round for the third time in this tournament. With a little hiccup on her score sheet, she was able to get a one-under 71 to finish at a four-under 212.
Oon’s fellow teammate Antonia Malate was able to make a come up from being tied to 47th but finishing tied at 43rd in the tournament. She ended the final day with a six-over 222.
SJSU heads up the Peninsula to Stanford to play in the Stanford Intercollegiate Oct. 11-13.
