San Jose State women’s golf team placed fourth in the third and final round of the Pan Pacific University Super Golf League at Grand Fields Country Club in Mishima City, Japan, on Friday.
The Spartans ended 30 over par, trailing behind the University of St Andrews, Texas Christian University and first-place finisher Nihon University, which was the only team to go under par with 6-under.
Though the Spartans placed fourth, senior Tessa Kremser tied for third place, finishing as the top American player. She shot an even-par score of 213 after her third consecutive round of scoring 71, including two birdies in Round 3.
SJSU head coach Dana Dormann stated that although there is room for improvement, the tournament was a great experience for the team.
Sophomores Lotte Schuhr and Kleopatra Kozakiewicz each shot three birdies in the final round, with Schuhr finishing at 8-over 221 and Kozakiewicz at 12-over 225.
Sophomore Regina Roldan and senior Moa Andersson both shot a 79 in the final round, finishing 14-over and 19-over, respectively.
The Spartans will next compete at the Leadership and Golf Invitational hosted by Seattle University on Sep.14-15 at Chambers Bay Golf Course in Washington.
