San Jose State volleyball is on the road this week as it faces Utah State (4-17, 2-8 MW) on Thursday and Boise State (13-8, 5-5 MW) on Saturday.
With half the season behind them, it’s time for the Spartans (9-10, 4-6 MW) to display all they have worked for.
The Spartans just ended a three-match win streak and have not beat the Aggies since 2015, so a win would really change the momentum for the rest of the season.
SJSU has a chance to continue Utah State’s three-match losing streak. This would be a game changer as SJSU lost to Utah State earlier this season 3-2.
Boise State usually proves to be a tough competitor for SJSU, but not this year.
The Spartans swept the Broncos for their first conference win back in September. The Broncos are currently ranked No. 5 in the Mountain West, one place above the Spartans.
This week is going to be a test of who is truly the better team. The Spartans lost to the Aggies previously this season but are ranked higher. It is the same situation but reversed with the Broncos.
The Spartans have to prove that they have improved within the season if they want a chance at winning either of these matches.
The Utah State match will start at 6 p.m. at Kirby Court.
