The San Jose State softball team will host its first home game of the season on SJSU’s South Campus, debuting the long-awaited softball field against New Mexico.
Alongside the field’s debut, the team’s graduating seniors will be recognized for their dedication to the Spartan Community.
The Spartans (27-15, 11-6 MW) took two of three last weekend and will be looking for momentum heading into the final six games of the season.
The Lobos on the other hand (12-31, 5-10 MW) are tied for last place in the conference with San Diego State and have lost 14 of their last 16 games.
The two seniors that will be recognized for the Spartans are infielder Emma Entzminger and outfielder Brittany Abacherli.
Sophomore infielder Cassidy Clark leads the Spartans with a .394 batting average.
Freshman pitcher Caroline Bowman is 13-2 and has an ERA of 3.24.
New Mexico’s senior infielder Chelsea Johnson leads the team with a .318 batting average and has played in every game for the Lobos.
First pitch will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Ribbon cutting ceremony for the new facility will be after the game on Friday and the seniors will be recognized on Saturday.
