SJSU women’s volleyball will take on Nevada Oct. 28 after their recent victory.
The Spartans (12-12, 3-8 MW) finally managed to snap their six-match losing streak with their recent victory against Fresno 3-2.
Meanwhile, Nevada (6-16, 2-9 MW) has been on a three-match losing streak after falling to Wyoming 3-0, Colorado State 3-0, and Fresno State 3-0.
The outstanding players on SJSU’s roster are crucial to the team’s performance this season.
Freshman Nayeli Ti’a, Junior Brooke Slusser, and Freshman Teya Nguyen have all secured double-doubles in the Mountain West match against Fresno. Senior Jiana Lawson led the Spartans with eight blocks, three solo and five assists.
SJSU has a history of success against Nevada. Last year, the Spartans secured a 3-1 victory in their last meeting. This could give the Spartans an edge in their upcoming match.
In its last match, SJSU won against Fresno State 3-2. The Spartans sixth-consecutive win over the Bulldogs and now are 57-35 in the overall series.
