SJSU Baseball go 1-1 in a doubleheader against Air Force

The SJSU baseball team (7-8, 4-2 MW) split a doubleheader 1-1 Saturday at home against Air Force (8-13, 3-3 MW).

In the first matchup, the Spartans took care of business in 5-4 walk off victory.

Junior Dalton Bowling did it again with another clutch hit. This time with a RBI double in the bottom of the 11th to walk it off for the Spartans.

SJSU trailed most of the game until a three run eighth inning helped the Spartans tie the game at four a piece.

Junior Charles McAdoo hit an RBI single to make it a two-run game. Later in the inning, McAdoo scored off a wild pitch to trim the lead to one run.

On the next pitch up junior Hunter Dorraugh scored off a wild pitch to tie the game at four.

Senior Keaton Chase pitched three scoreless innings while striking-out four batters.

In game two the Spartans fell to Air Force with a 9-5 loss.

SJSU jumped out to early 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two RBI double from Bowling.

Air Force answer back in the next inning with two runs of their own to tie the game up at two a piece.

Later on in the the sixth Air Force scored four runs to extend their lead 7-2.

SJSU was looking to make another come back when freshman Neli Jansen hit a two RBI single and cut the down the lead to three runs.

Air Force added two more runs in the game and took the series in a 9-5 win.

San Jose State gave up 15 hits and went through five different pitchers.

Next up for the Spartans will be a three game series at home next weekend against Saint Louis University.
