Women’s soccer adds two transfers and freshman to roster

Three new players join San Jose State women’s soccer’s signing class of 2020. The team adds Freshman Jaiden McClellan alongside transfers Juliane Laurent and Batya Bagully to increase the number of new faces to ten.

McClellan is an incoming true freshman midfielder and was a four-year varsity player and two-time team captain for Jesuit High School, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. She was a two-time all-metro and all-state selection and was an all-american as a senior. She participated in the United States Youth Soccer National Training Camp and was invited to be a part of the U14 U.S. National Team.

Transfer midfielder Juliane Laurent joins the Spartans after playing club ball for Olympique Lyonnais in Martinique, France. In 2018-19, she played in 28 games and had nine goals and seven assists. Laurent played for RC Lorraine in 2017-18 and tallied 20 goals in 25 games. In 2016-17 as part of RC Saint Joseph, she knocked in 10 goals. 

Transfer midfielder/forward Batya Bagully comes to SJSU after one redshirt season at the University of Hawaii. She was selected to the Avocado Conference East first-team and All-CIF second team as a sophomore at San Marcos High School. In three years of high school play, she had 7 game-winning goals and 41 total. Bagully was also part of the Kazakhstan National Team since 2014 with U16, U17 and U19.
