Volleyball heads on final road trip of the season

This weekend is the season wrap up for the San Jose State volleyball team with two final road matches against Fresno State (20-8, 12-3 MW) and San Diego State (9-20, 7-9 MW).

The Spartans (14-11, 9-7 MW) will take on the Bulldogs first on Thursday. Fresno is currently No.2 in the Mountain West Conference and will be looking to extend its three-match win streak.

Bulldog senior outside hitter Taylor Slover will be the player in red to watch in Thursday’s match. Slover currently leads her team in both kills (405) and aces (31).

San Diego is holding eighth place in the MW and will be hosting the Nevada Wolfpack on Thursday before going up against the Spartans on Saturday.

Aztec senior Deja Harris will be the player to watch on the floor. The middle blocker holds the highest hitting percentage at .316%, leads in kills (342) and blocks (157).

After defeating Air Force on Saturday, the Spartans are currently tied for fifth in the conference and are looking for their third consecutive win in the match against the Bulldogs.

Senior libero Luiza Andrade will be the player to watch this weekend in her final matches donning the Spartan uniform. The MW defensive player of the week tallied 20 digs and 8 assists against the Falcons on Saturday.

The Spartans match against the Bulldogs will start Thursday at 7 p.m. SJSU will then head to San Diego, Calif. on Saturday to face the Aztecs at 6 p.m.
