“Timo Time” has been striking the clock all season as Timo Meier continued his dominance with two goals in the San Jose Sharks’ 4-3 overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 22-year-old right-winger scored his 10th and 11th of the season, including the game-winning goal that came 13-seconds into OT.

“My goal is to help the team win games and to do as much as I can,” Meier told the Associated Press in a postgame interview. “I’m not a numbers guy. I’m not focusing on numbers, only to be the best player I can be.”

The Flyers were quick to get on the board tonight when Nolan Patrick scored on San Jose’s Martin Jones 37 seconds into the game.

Meier answered Patrick with his first goal of the night less than three minutes later, but Philly’s Jordan Weal brought the Flyers up again 2-1 at the end of the period.

“He’s been great,” head coach Peter DeBoer told the Associated Press in a postgame interview. “Thankfully he’s off to the start he’s off to. We need him. We need somebody to step up.”

Despite missed opportunities earlier in the game, Sharks captain Joe Pavelski scored a power-play goal halfway through the second period to tie the game up once again. With 30 seconds remaining, Jakub Voracek scored to give the Flyers the 3-2 lead going into the final period.

At 15:03 in the third, Joe Thornton finally scored his first goal of the season.

It’s been three games since the 21-year NHL veteran has returned to the ice after a knee injury cost him a nine-game absence.

Jumbo’s first of the campaign came off an assist from Kevin Labanc with a top-shelf shot past Philly goalie Calvin Pickard to send the game to OT.

“I feel better,” Thornton told NHL’s Eric Gilmore in a postgame interview. “There are good periods I feel great and times not so good. It’s starting to come. It’s a work in progress.”

Thanks to an open pass from Logan Couture, Meier sealed the game 13 seconds into OT and gave the Sharks their seventh win of the season.

Jones’ 21 saves helped break San Jose’s two-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Pickard’s 31 saves were not enough to help the Flyers keep their two-game winning campaign.

The Sharks will conclude their four-game home stand with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday.
