San Jose State men’s golf competed at the Duck Invitational and finished seventh Tuesday at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon.
The Spartans posted a team score of 878, finishing 26 over par in a competitive 15-team field that featured several strong programs.
SJSU remained in the top half of the leaderboard throughout the two-day tournament, relying on consistent scoring across its lineup to stay competitive.
Senior pair Ivan Barahona and Avinash Iyer led the Spartans, each tying for 12th place with a three-round total of 216, finishing 3 over par.
Iyer recorded the team’s best round of the final day with a 73, highlighted by three birdies as he climbed the leaderboard.
Barahona matched Iyer in the standings after carding a 74 in his final round, also recording three birdies to cap off a steady performance.
Junior Keshav Mungali added to the team’s depth, finishing tied for 25th with a total score of 219 after shooting a 75 in the final round.
Senior Jed Dy finished tied for 66th with a three-round total of 229 after posting a 79 on Tuesday.
Senior Xuan Luo carded an 80 in the final round to complete the tournament lineup for the Spartans.
Freshman Christian Maggard rounded out the Spartans’ effort, placing 82nd while competing as an individual.
The Spartans showed depth across the lineup with multiple players finishing inside the top 25 and consistent contributions throughout the tournament.
SJSU will compete next at a to be announced event Tuesday at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
