The San Jose State women’s golf team put together three strong rounds to finish ninth at the Nanea Invitational, finishing up Wednesday at the par-73 Nanea Golf Club against some of the nation’s best.
After opening with a steady even-par 292 on Monday to sit eighth, the Spartans continued their solid play with a 1-over 293 in the second round before wrapping up the event at 889 (+13) overall.
Junior Moa Andersson led the Spartans in the final round, hitting 1-under 72 with four birdies to jump seven spots and tied for 30th at 1-over 220.
Freshman Kleopatra Kozakiewicz, who shot a 2-under 71 in Tuesday’s second round, tied for 32nd at 2-over 221.
The freshmen trio of Regina Roldan, Ting-Yu Chang and Lotte Schuhr capped off the Spartans’ lineup with Roldan and Chang tying for 42nd at 6-over 225 and Schuhr finishing 49th at 11-over 230.
Roldan and Chang set the tone early for SJSU, both firing 1-under 72s in the opening round to tie for 24th on day one.
Kozakiewicz’s back to back birdies on holes 13 and 14 in that same round helped her to an even-par 73 start, and also helped the Spartans tied for fourth in total birdies (19) on day one.

“Four freshmen in the lineup, they’re learning and growing and we’re going to come back better and stronger in the spring,” SJSU head coach Dana Dormann said.
