Men’s basketball preview: SJSU hosts Fullerton in first regular season game

By Kassandra Zeledon — Reporter

The San Jose State men’s basketball team will be playing against Cal State Fullerton Thursday at the Provident Credit Event Center.

This is the Spartans first time of the season playing against the Titans as it is the second game of the season for them.

SJSU will hope to continue its winning streak as the second game of the season progresses. The first game SJSU has against Cal State East Bay the Spartans won 60-56 making the Pioneers go back into hiding.

Fans and competitors should keep an eye out for junior guard Omari Moore who tallied a 23-point double-double in SJSU’s exhibition match against Cal State East Bay. Moore is someone competitors should be wary of on the court.

Another person to keep an eye out for is freshman guard Alvaro Cardenas Torre. The Spaniard scored 11 points against East Bay. He made his debut an exciting one to look out for in the stands and the competitors alike may be surprised to see what this freshman brings out on the court.

With Moore and Cardenas on the team the duo will be unstoppable going against the Titans on the court.

Since Cal State Fullerton lost its first game to Santa Clara with a final score of 84-77 it seems as though this would be an easy win for SJSU.

See the Spartans Face off the Titans at 7 p.m. or you can watch it live on the Mountain West Digital Network.
