San Jose State women’s volleyball (14-7, 8-3 MW) faced off against the University of Nevada (3-19, 0-11 MW) en route to a 3-2 victory.
It came down to the wire, but the Spartans were able to down the Wolf Pack in five games.
This extends the Spartans’ win streak to match a season-best of five games.
Graduate outside hitter Latahevai Lousi was a key component to the Spartans’ win. She had 21 kills and a game-high seven blocks, continuing her dominant season.
Sophomore setter Mia Schafer accounted for 52 of the Spartans’ 61 assists during the match.
She is ranked second in the MW in assists with 735.
The Spartans lead the Mountain West conference in digs with 1,133.
Their 72 digs on Tuesday night helped extend the lead.
Graduate middle blocker Ryann Thomison has been on a tear for the Spartans over the past week. She has hit for a .309 average over the last week, including a season-high 16 kills and eight blocks against New Mexico last Thursday.
She continued to stay hot by securing three blocks against Nevada.
The Spartans will look to extend their win streak to six on Friday at home in Uchida Hall at 7 p.m. against rival Fresno State.
