By Autumn Blue- Reporter

The San Jose State women’s soccer team (7-10-1, 4-5-1 MW) will be heading to Fresno State (8-6-3, 6-3-1 MW) to end their regular season.

SJSU played the University of Nevada (4-11-2, 3-5-2 MW)  this past Sunday and lost the match 2-1.

The Wolfpack managed to score two goals during the first 10 minutes of the second period immediately taking the lead from the Spartans.

Junior midfielder Juliane Laurent scored the one and only goal for the night right after UN scored their second goal.

This was Laurent’s first career goal in her Spartan career.

Freshman goalkeeper Autum Monty managed to end the night with three saves.

SJSU was unable to score any more points against UNR due to the short amount of time left during the final period, ending the night with a final score 2-1.

The last time these rivals played each other the Spartans did not come out victorious losing to the Bulldogs 3-1 in their 2020 season finale.

This game will be intense between both teams since this is the final game that determines who gets a spot in the Mountain West playoffs.

The Spartans have 0.89 goals per game compared to the Bulldogs’ 1.47 goals per game, Spartans have 210 shots compared to the Bulldogs’ 178, and 11 assists compared to Bulldogs’ 25.

Statistically UNR has an advantage against SJSU but the stats will not determine who will fight until the final whistle.

You can catch the match onThursday night at 7 p.m. in Fresno, Calif. or on the Mountain West network.
