After days of intense storming, the weather has finally cleared up, leaving the sun to shine for the next soccer game.
The change in weather has left Spartans eager to see the final homestand of SJSU’s men’s soccer season.
San Jose State men’s soccer team (8-5-2, 6-1-1 WAC) continues their winning streak as they go against Chicago State University men’s soccer (2-11-2, 0-7-1 WAC) on Friday, Oct. 19 at the Spartan Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
In their last game, SJSU’s men’s soccer team traveled to San Antonio, Texas, and defeated the University of Incarnate Word on October 24th. This was their seventh win in their match streak.
As the Spartans have been on fire during their winning streak, the attention will likely fall on junior defender Kasper Poulsgaard.
Poulsgaard was recently named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week and had led the men’s soccer team to victory with the winning goal against UIW.
Senior Rudi Castro made contributions of his own with five shots and one assist. Castra worked well with Poulsgaard in their previous game so there’s a definite building of drive as they approach their next game.
The Cougars are hoping to secure a victory, as their last win was in September against the University of Wisconsin Green-Bay. However, they tied with Dixie State University earlier this month.
Their last game was against California Baptist University on October 24th where they were dominated and lost, 5-1.
Watch the Spartans go up against the Cougars live on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. on the WAC Digital Network.
