The San Jose State Spartans begin their 2019 campaign when the Northern Colorado Bears come to CEFCU Stadium on August 29.
While Spartan fans are hoping for a more promising look in year three for Brent Brennan and company, the question still remains, who will lead this team?
Last season, Josh Love earned the starting quarterback job out of Fall camp, but the job was quickly snatched away by Montel Aaron in the first game of the season.
Aaron proved to provide the Spartans with a better look on offense to complement the running game. He came close to leading a Spartans comeback against UC Davis in week 1.
However, Brennan turned back to Love in week 3 after Aaron began to struggle. Love rewarded the decision against the Rainbow Warriors when he had the best game of his career, throwing for 451 yards and three touchdowns.
The odds on favorite to lead the Spartans to begin 2019 will be Love, but there are four others in camp that could challenge that spot before August 29.

Brennan will have his hands full trying to choose who to give the ball to on day 1, but it remains to be seen who will take the ball from Love.
Trujillo, coming off of a phenomenal senior season where he threw 50 touchdown passes is someone the Spartans should take a long look at to see if he can get the Spartans off to a fast start.
This decision will be crucial for SJSU as they look to make a leap back into the Mountain West race after two straight seasons sitting near the cellar of the conference.
