San Jose State wrapped up the San Diego Classic on Sunday in a 12-3 loss to the University of Illinois-Chicago.
After two rainouts Saturday, the Spartans (10-7) started slow against the Flames.

Redshirt sophomore catcher Alyssa Griman smashed a double to left field, emptying the bases and bringing the Flames in lead of 3-0. Griman ended the game with a season high of 2 doubles and 7 RBI’s.
Freshman infielder Arianna Miranda showed up big time in her hometown, hitting a homerun in the third inning.
Freshman Chrys Hildebrand came in relief and was credited with four innings pitched, with two strikeouts in the course of her appearance.
SJSU paired a few runs at the bottom of the sixth inning off a UIC error, leaving with two hits and two walks. Shortly after UIC came in with the run-rule victory ending the game.
The upset win gave the Flames (5-10) just their fifth victory on the season.
