San Jose State women’s basketball (1-9) closes out 2018 in its final non-conference game against the University of San Diego Friday night.
The Toreros (6-4) have won the past six meetings with their last victory coming in 2013. They hold the all-time series advantage against the Spartans 6-2.
SJSU is coming off one of its worst games of the season against Cal State Northridge and everyone will look to flip the script.
Although USD shoots 42.8 percent from the field, it allows opponents to shoot about 44.
Forward Patricia Brossmann leads the Toreros with a 57.9 field-goal percentage and an average of 12.6 points per game.
While the junior is a threat in and outside the paint, her teammate Sydney Shepard does damage beyond the 3-point line. The senior guard leads the team with 19 made 3’s.
As a whole, USD shoots 34.7 percent while its opponents go for about 33 percent.
In Wednesday’s game against CSUN, guard Analyss Benally moved alone into 12th place on SJSU’s career three-point list, passing Kim Skaggs. The junior will look to make an impact as she chases Sara Plavljanin for 11th place.
Tip-off at Jenny Craig Pavilion is set for 5 p.m.
