Volleyball looks for another win in rematch with Air Force

SJSU women’s volleyball (13-11) will host Air Force (14-14) this Saturday in what will be the third to last match of the year for the Spartans.

SJSU volleyball has impressed many people in a variety of ways this season with great performances from a number of players.

As the Spartans get ready to host the Air Force, they will surely be thinking about the last time the two teams faced off.

In that match, SJSU came out on top in a final score of 3-2. Additionally that match was hosted by Air Force at their home court at the USAF Academy in Colorado.

If the ladies can accomplish what they did last time to Air Force and combine it with the great home crowd energy SJSU provides, a win is surely in their grasp.

One of the many notable Spartans to keep and eye on is redshirt junior outside hitter Fernanda Vido, who has an impressive season in the works, leading the team with 250.5 points.

Another player to watch will be SJSU junior middle blocker Thaliana Grajeda, who has a total of 232.5 points and is tied for first place for both set points and match points at 91 and 24, respectively.

The other two Spartans tied with Grajeda leading the team in both set and match points are senior libero Luiza Andrade and freshman setter Mamie Garard.

The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. in the Spartan Gym.
