It’s been eight-years since the SJSU women’s tennis team has seen a win against Fresno State.

The Spartans (11-6) and the Bulldogs (7-11) will match up on Friday where SJSU followed by a meeting with Nevada (6-7) on Sunday.

The Bulldogs are ranked No. 4 in the Mountain West conference, while the Spartans are ranked No. 8 mainly because of conference record, where the Spartans are 0-1 and the Bulldogs are 1-0.

The Spartans will enter Friday’s match after a 5-2 win against UC Davis (13-4) last weekend, while the Bulldogs will enter after a 4-3 win against Wolf Pack (6-7).

Senior Sybille Gauvain could re-face Bulldog Katerina Stloukalova for a second win after defeating Stloukalova 6-4, 6-3 last season, while junior Miyo Kobayashi could see Georgia Lawson again after a 6-4, 6-2 win last season.

After Friday’s match against the Bulldogs, the Spartans will also compete against the Wolf Pack Sunday, April 15 at the Spartan Tennis Complex to conclude their two-match weekend.

Last season when the Spartans and Wolf Pack met, the Pack won 4-3 to mark the Spartans first loss against Nevada in three years.

The fifth-ranked Wolf Pack will first travel to San Diego to compete against SDSU on Friday then make their way to San Jose to take on the Spartans.
