San Jose State’s women’s basketball team will celebrate senior night against Air Force for the last game of the season Friday night at the Event Center.

Graduating seniors Myzhanique Ladd and Hallie Gennett will be making playing their last games as Spartans on their home court.

Earlier in the week, Ladd became the 17th player in SJSU women’s basketball history to reach the 1,000 point mark. Gennett has a chance to join her in the 1,000-point club Friday night as she needs 13 points.

The Spartans (7-21, 4-13 MW) are coming off a tough loss in Logan to the Aggies while the Falcons (4-24, 4-13 MW) are riding high after beating the top-ranked Wyoming Cowgirls by 10 points.

Both teams currently sit tied for last place in the conference based on conference record at 4-13. The loser will end up 11th in the Mountain West, meaning a matchup against the 6th ranked New Mexico Lobos.

Back to the matchup at hand, the last time the Spartans and Falcons met, SJSU escaped Air Force with a one-point win. Air Force had lost 17 straight games before the meeting but have won four games since the last time the two squads met on Jan. 13.

In that game, Ladd had a double-double as she netted 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as point guard Taylor Turney led the crew with 17.

The top shooters for the Falcons were freshman Kaelin Immel with 26 points, followed by senior Courtney Porter with 18.

Porter currently holds the most assists (318) and steals (165) in Air Force, meaning the Spartans need to make sure Porter doesn’t get too comfortable.

Freshman shooting guard Megan Anderson is one three-pointer away from setting the most in a single season by a freshman. She currently sits with 43 after making six from deep against Utah State.

The game will begin at 7 p.m.
