San Jose State women’s swimming and diving team put together a strong weekend at the 2026 CSCAA National Invitational Championships, finishing 13th overall with 222 points. The Spartans recorded six top-10 finishes and several standout swims across the three-day meet against more than 60 teams.
SJSU closed the Thursday with a highlight performance in the 400 medley relay.
The team of Freshman Genevieve George, Junior Vilma Lindberg, Freshman Lillie Grover and Junior Dalton Sickon won their finals heat with a time of 3:39.72, which ultimately stood as the second-fastest finish in the event and the third-fastest time in program history.
Lindberg led the Spartans with a fourth-place finish in the 50 breaststroke, touching the wall in 28.30, a time that set a new school record.
Sickon also reached the finals on opening night, recording a time of 23.25 in the 50 freestyle.
“I’m really happy with our momentum coming off of tonight, in ninth place going into tomorrow’s events and we’re ready to roll,” SJSU head coach Sage Hopkins said.
Grover added two more top-10 finishes during the championships, placing fourth in the 200 butterfly at 1:59.28 and eighth in the 100 butterfly at 53.74. Lindberg also earned another top-eight finish in the 100 breaststroke, placing eighth with a time of 1:01.86.
The Spartans finished the championships with four swimmers competing in finals. Grover began the evening by swimming a 24.77 in the 50 butterfly finals, while Freiman followed with a time of 2:03.65 in the 200 individual medley finals.
Behind those performances, the Spartans closed the weekend with a 13th-place team finish against a deep national field.
The Spartans will head to the NCAA Championships on March 19th in Atlanta, Ga.to finish the season.
