San Jose State women’s volleyball (12-14, 7-8 MW) powered past Boise State (16-10, 8-7) in four sets.
After a slow start where the Spartans started off losing the first set, They would come back to win the next three and never looked back.
When junior outside hitter Naima Foster slammed home the final point off the set, the building exploded in noise as the Spartans came out victorious.
Junior right-side hitter Tatiana Robinson led the charge with 12 kills and three blocks, on an efficient .522 hitting percentage, while sophomore middle blocker Learden Lee added 11 kills and a dominant seven blocks at the net.
“Learden and Tati played incredible matches, 10 blocks between the two of them. I couldn’t be more proud,” SJSU head coach Todd Kress said.
Junior setter Fatimah Hall ran the offense with precision, recording 43 assists, nine digs and a service ace to keep the Spartans in rhythm.
Freshman libero Talita Goncalves anchored the defense with 23 digs, constantly diving across the floor to keep plays alive.
Junior right-side hitter Lolo Fonua and junior middle blocker Ava Hewitt-Smith added crucial kills in important moments, helping SJSU maintain momentum through the final two sets.
The Spartans hit .268 as a team, and finished with 10 total blocks and 62 digs.
The Spartans trailed for most of the fourth set as they were down 21-20, before finding a surge of energy from the bleachers.
Each rally felt louder than the last, as the Spartan Gym was celebrating every kill.
With the win, SJSU improved to 7-8 in Mountain West play and continued to build late season momentum heading into its final matches.
The Spartans host their last home game of the season against Utah, the only undefeated team in the Mountain West (14-0) at noon on Thursday, Nov. 15 in the Spartan Gym.
