The San Jose State women’s golf team matched up against six of the top 10 teams in the nation to start their 2025 season, playing at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, at Lake Elmo, MN.
In round one, the standout performer was junior Moa Andersson shooting a -2, but as a team the Spartans shot +10 which had them sitting in sixth place at the end of day one.
San Jose started slow and turned up the heat as the tournament went on.
“Really proud of Moa Andersson who’s our leader today,” said head coach Dana Dormann.
Round two showed more consistency, as their best performer, freshman Regina Roldan shot at par throughout the 18 holes, but the Spartans shot +7 as round two came to an end.
The third round is where San Jose really heated up, as they shot -1 as a team, and had both freshmen Kleopatra Kozakiewicz and Roldan shooting under par on day three.
“I am pleased with our finish,” said coach Dana Dormann.
Kozakiewicz shot -4 in what was her best day of the tournament.
Roldan finished day three shooting -2, in what was a very good tournament for her, finishing 19th.
Leading the team was Roldan finishing 19th, and shooting only 2-over-par 216.
They wrapped up the three day tournament finishing in eighth place out of 12 teams.
The Spartans’ next tournament will be at 8 a.m. on September 15-16 in Seattle as they will compete in the Leadership and Golf Invitational.
