SJSU baseball (18-13, 11-4 MW) will be looking for its fourth straight win as the Spartans go to battle with the Cal Poly Mustangs (11-21, 7-8 BW) today.

The Spartans picked up three huge conference wins by sweeping the UNLV Rebels over the weekend. Clicking on all cylinders, the offense scored 23 total runs on the Rebels over the weekend. SJSU’s pitching was even better as they held the Rebels to only eight runs over the three games, outscoring UNLV 23-8.

Rising star redshirt sophomore outfielder Jeriah Lewis has been a menace on the base paths leading SJSU in stolen bases going seven for eight this season. Lewis has also been seeing the ball better in the batter’s box, improving his slugging percentage to .353.

Redshirt junior third baseman Dalton Bowling has eight RBIs over the last eight games, as he continues to lead the Spartans offense with his outstanding hitting.

Junior shortstop Theo Hardy has been an on base machine. Hardy leads the Spartans in on base percentage, walks and batting average. Hardy has a .327 batting average, 19 walks and a .434 OPS percentage.

On the other hand, Cal Poly has lost seven of its last 11 games. The Mustangs lack in offense with their pitching ranked second to last in the Big West conference, carrying a 5.73 ERA this season.

Junior pitcher Bryce Warrecker has been the ace for the Mustangs pitching rotation. Warrecker holds a 3-2 record and has a 4.40 ERA.

Sophomore catcher Ryan Stafford has been leading the way for the Mustangs with a .328 batting average and an on base percentage of .416.

Catch the Spartans take on the Mustangs on Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. at Bagget Stadium in San Luis Obispo. The game can also be watched on ESPN+.
