SJSU softball (19-22, 7-8 MW) drop two-game series to Mountain West top-seeded Boise State (22-12, 9-2), losing 1-0 in extra innings.

Saturday, both teams struggled to put points on the board, with redshirt senior pitcher Jenessa Ullegue striking out twelve batters.

However, Ullegue allowed five hits, with one-run scoring being all the Broncos needed to take home the first game.

In extra innings, graduate student infielder Eliyah Flores doubled to left field, scoring junior outfielder Jordyn Hutchins.

Unfortunately, the Spartans couldn’t capitalize on a great outing by Ullegue, ending their three-game win streak.

SJSU softball dominated in series finale versus Boise State

After Saturday’s slip-away victory, Boise State (23-12, 10-2 MW) showed why they’re the top team in the Mountain West conference, beating San Jose State (19-23, 7-9 MW) in their final game 10-2.

Hutchins and Flores started things off by hitting back-to-back solo home runs in the top of the second inning.

The duo captured two RBI singles in the third and sixth inning.

Both Hutchins and Flores homered, registered two runs, and collected three hits with three RBIs.

The Spartans went on to score two runs in the sixth inning, but their comeback hopes were short-lived.

The Spartans look to bounce back as they head to UNLV for a three-game series starting on April 21 at 6 p.m.
