The San Jose State baseball team (18-18, 9-9 MW) returns home to host Santa Clara (18-15, 8-7 WCC) Tuesday at 6:05 p.m.

SJSU has been on the road since its last home game on March 29.

The team finished their 11-game road trip with a series sweep on the road against UNLV.

Walks were an issue during the three-game series as it has been all season.

The Spartans have given up the most walks in the Mountain West with 226 including 25 over the weekend.

Sophomore pitcher Brady Hill leads the MW in saves with seven this season. He looks to bounce back after suffering his first loss on Saturday night.

The long ball has helped the team’s offense as SJSU is tied for second in the MW in home runs with 46, including four against UNLV.

Sophomore Dalton Bowling had a hot bat against UNLV. He has 21 hits in 25 games with seven of them being in the most recent series. He also has seven home runs on the year.

The Santa Clara Broncos are coming into the game after a weekend series victory against St. Mary’s.

San Jose State will have to face a stingy Broncos pitching staff that ranks second in the WCC with a 3.73 ERA. Santa Clara also ranks second in hits allowed with 89.

The projected starting pitchers are SJSU’s  Micky Thompson (1-2, 8.02 ERA) vs SC’s Blake Hammond (0-1, 4.63 ERA).
