Men’s track attended the Bryan Clay Invitational for three days of events. The Spartans posted impressive numbers over the course of the weekend.

San Jose States’ Jalen Adams came in 47th place in the men’s 100 meter with a time of 10.89. Adams also came in 42nd place in the 200 meters with a time of 21.89. Both are team bests for the season. Adams is only a sophomore and has been a bright spot for the Spartans.

Andy Wang came in 107th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.26. Only 0.37 seconds slower than Adams but 60 places behind which shows how tightly contested it is.

In the shot put, two Spartans had a good showing. Bryson Smith came in 26thth with a distance of 14.41m. Not far behind him, Pablo Villasenor III came in 31stst with a 13.50m.

Smith excelled in the hammer toss where he came in fifth with a 57.27m. This was the highest place for any Spartan over the weekend. Villasenor came in 32ndnd in the hammer toss with a 43.63m.

In the 400 hurdles, Cecil Ebiwok finished with a time of 54.86s. This is one of the teams’ best times of the season. Micah Hairston holds the team best with a 54.82, only 0.04 seconds faster than Ebiwok.

Some Spartans put up strong performances and it will be interesting to see if they can beat their own season highs as the season rolls on.

The Spartans also competed in the MT. Sac Relays over the weekend. The Spartans are competing at the Fresno State Invitational on April 29 and 30.
