San Jose State women’s track and field competed in the Don Kirby Elite Invitational hosted by University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

A Spartan school record was broken by freshman Gabby Spencer, who ran a 24.23 in the 200-meter dash.

The team had an impressive amount of personal records broken throughout the day with a total of 11 out of 12 personal bests which shows that the team has been working hard to perform their best at this meet.

Four of the personal records took place in the 200-meter, which included freshman Kaiya Johnson (24.92), freshman Yleana Lopez (24.23) and sophomore Sydney Bentley (24.47).

Coach Ryan was happy with his team and the progression they have shown in their performance this weekend.

The indoor season is coming to an end as they reach the Mountain West Indoor Championships coming up Feb. 24-26, which also takes place in Albuquerque.
