The San Jose State Men’s Golf team played in Bremerton, WA at the Husky Invitational at the Gold Mountain Golf Club’s Olympic course.
The Spartans finished fifth out of 16 teams over the invitational weekend. The Spartans finished off the tournament with a five under score of 859. Junior Caleb Shelter was the top Spartan today bringing in these stats.
Shelter brought in a score of 212 with finishing off in a tie for 11th. Freshman Nick Watts also finished the individual invitation coming in first place. Watts finished the course with a score of 206 over the weekend. With only one bogey in the tournament he played two of the three rounds bogey free.
Freshman Zubair Firdaus also finished strong in the tournament bringing in a score of 218 and finishing off in a tie for 29th.
Although San Jose State had players racking in the scores throughout the day, It was Oregon State freshman Brandon Eyre who finished 9-under and claimed the title at the Husky Invitational.
The Spartan’s no doubt have a strong finishing force upon them with three strong players who bring in the heat. Spartans finished the tournament strong with a fifth place finish.
The Spartans will be returning to the course on Oct. 11-12th for the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev.
