It was a disappointing night for the San Jose State men’s soccer team (2-4-1). SJSU fell to University of Pacific tonight 4-1 in its last non-conference match of the season.

Within the first four minutes, UOP scored its first goal setting the tone for the rest of the night.

Four minutes later, Emory Rapaport rebounded his own penalty kick save and put another goal on the scoreboard for the Powercat’s.

Trailing 2-0, freshman midfielder Andres Rivera drew a foul inside the box and senior midfielder Finlay Wood took the penalty kick resulting in the first goal for the Spartans.

SJSU ended the night with 11 shots, six of them inside the frame.

Wood, senior defender Jamal Adam, senior midfielder Max Allen and sophomore forward Ryota Nakashima took the most shots of the night with a pair of shots each.

SJSU senior goalkeeper David Sweeney was credited for five saves tonight, a season high.

The Spartans will take a few days off before they start their official WAC conference play on Sept. 25 taking on Air Force (1-4-1) at the USAF Academy in Colorado at 11:00 a.m.
