San Jose State men’s basketball (2-3) snapped their three-game losing streak in a non-conference matchup against the Northern Colorado Bears (3-4) 75-74 at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

The decision of the game came down to the wire, as the Bears led 74-73 in the last seconds of the game.

That was until Omari Moore took matters into his own hands with a game-winning slam dunk with four seconds remaining.

Moore had an impressive night scoring 28 points along with two blocks, as he led the team in points scored.

Head Coach Tim Miles had nothing but praise for Moore and how productive he was for the Spartans offense.

“Really credit Omari Moore with that spectacular play to end the game with a great middle ball screen and you know and he gets it down,” said Miles.

Moore caught fire from deep, going 4-for-6 on 3-pointers, but he was not alone as the Spartans combined a shot percentage of 52% from the 3-point line.

Trey Smith was the next leading scorer with 10 points for the Spartans, going 3 for 5 at the three in big-time possessions.

Coach Miles discussed how impactful getting a big win at home was for the program and how close wins like tonight can lift the spirits of a team.

“The more games we can squeak out like this, you know, it’ll get better and we will climb,” said Miles.

The Spartans dominated the second half of the game against the Bears as they shot 12-for-17 on free throws, 4-for-7 on 3-pointers, and shot 54% from the field.

Coach Miles commended the team for pulling out a hard-fought victory before their thanksgiving break as they won’t play until Nov.30.

“The game before Thanksgiving you always have to worry, you know, and I kind of felt that way but credit the guys that really bucked up and getting the win,” said Miles.

The Spartans will look to carry this momentum into their next game against South Dakota (4-1) on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
