The Spartans took advantage of being back home after being away for over a year.
San Jose State women’s gymnastics team swung to victory with a score 194.375 to Stanford’s 192.550.
This was the second time the Spartans and the Cardinals met this season.
SJSU did take home the win on Feb. 27 with a final score of 192.625, which left Stanford in the dust with a final score of 133.375.
Before the meet was able to start, junior Tia Gin injured herself during warmups which forced to be cheering on her team from the sidelines.
The Spartans had some tumbles off the beam and slip ups on the floor, but continued to strive through to win against Stanford.
Sophomore Emma Milne scored a season-best with a 9.825 on the bars.
Sophomore Cameron Kelperis scored the highest on floor and a career-best with a 9.825 to help lead SJSU to win the floor overall with a 48.750.
Freshman Lauren Macpherson was the only Spartan to compete in the all-around events to round off the evening with a 38.950.
Sophomore Jada Mazury concluded the beam with a score of 9.875 to tie first with the Cardinal’s senior Kyla Bryant.
Stanford’s Bryant and sophomore Chloe Widner brought the heat to be on top of the leaderboard, but SJSU flipped past them.
The Spartans head down the coast to Southern California to compete against UCLA on Saturday at 2 P.M. at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
