San Jose State quarterback Nick Starkel has been named to the the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2020, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced Tuesday.
The class is made up of 35 quarterbacks from Division I football. Each quarterback is also a nominee for the Davey O’Brien Award, given to the nation’s best quarterback each season.
Of the 35 class members 16 semifinalists will be named for the award on Dec. 7 — as voted on by the award’s selection committee and a social media fan vote.
Starkel has thrown for 980 yards this season including a career-high 467 against New Mexico in October.
