San Jose State defensive lineman Cade Hall has won the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week award, the conference announced Monday.
The junior recorded three sacks and four total tackles for loss in the Spartans win against UNLV on Saturday. As a team SJSU brought down Rebels’ quarterbacks seven times, tied for the highest single-game total in the conference this season with San Diego State.
Hall currently leads the Mountain West with 5.5 sacks on the season. He’s the second straight Spartan to win the award, safety Tre Jenkins was the incumbent DPOW for his performance last week against SDSU.
So far the Spartans have one of the best defenses in the conference, among the best in the league in points allowed, yards and sacks.
They look to continue the strong defensive effort on Saturday against rival Fresno State.
