San Jose State sophomore forward Christian Anigwe has entered the transfer portal and will leave SJSU, as first reported by Gregg Rosenberg.
The 6-foot-9 Phoenix native played two seasons and started all but one game for the Spartans in the 2019-20 season. He averaged 5.2 points and 5.3 rebounds as a sophomore and led the team in blocks with 34.
He will have two years of eligibility remaining, and will be forced to sit next season out, assuming he lands at another Division I program.
Anigwe is the first player from SJSU men’s basketball to transfer this offseason. Last year, the team lost three players to transfer. It remains to be seen if Anigwe will be the lone Spartan to leave during this offseason.
The Spear has reached out to Anigwe and will update as he responds.
