Gymnastics places third in road tri-meet

The San Jose State women’s gymnastics team performed well at their meet on Sunday in a tri-meet with host Denver, Washington and Alaska Anchorage. 

The Pioneers took the match with a score of 196.925. 

SJSU finished third with a total score of 193.775 with outstanding performances in multiple events. 

The Spartans dominated on the bars with an abundance of high scores by multiple members of the team. 

Emma Milne led the bars with the high score of 9.925, and the second highest score overall. In total, the bars team ended with a score of 49.150 with high scores across the board.

 Following her with the third best score of the meet was Jada Mazury with a score of 9.875 and Carli Orcutt who obtained a career-high scoring 9.825.

Senior Taylor Chan scored well in multiple areas and ended up scoring fourth overall for the Spartans. She performed well on bars and led the floor with another 9.900. Chan finished with an 39.175 as an all-around. 

The Spartans will have their final home meet on March 15 at 2 p.m. against Sacramento State.
