San Jose State women’s swim and dive finished in fourth place at the Roadrunner Invitational and had 12 top-10 finishers throughout the weekend.
SJSU’s team standings concluded the day with 256 points.
Spartan senior Erin Wayman competed in the 1,000-yard freestyle event where she came in fifth, shedding nearly eight seconds off her time since the end of the last swimming season back in March.
Swimming in the 50-yard freestyle, senior Katie McIntee came in third place touching the wall at 24.52.
Her fellow swimmers, senior Antoinette Loya tied for eight place, freshman Rebecca Petoe came in 12th, senior Kimberlee Giggey drove into 13th place and junior Madison Grimes placed 15th all within milliseconds of one another.
For the 400-medley relay, SJSU placed sixth with a final set time of 3:59.41 and UC Santa Barbara came in first posting a 3:51.53 finish.
Senior Jacquelin Nisson had a 17th place finish for the 200-yard butterfly clocking in at 2:15.11.
Competing in the 200 yard breastroke, freshman Lea Marion, sophomores Chloe Limargo and Cali Rowland landed in fifth, sixth and seventh place, respectively, all coming in under the 26-second mark.
Grimes had a third place finish for the 200-yard backstroke posting a 2:07.46 set time, eight seconds behind first place winner UCSB freshman Zoe Cosgrove.
McIntee swam into third place for the 50-yard freestyle clocking in at 24.52 for the Spartans.
Closing out the day, SJSU came in sixth place for its final 400-freestyle relay posting a set time of 3:36.07.
The Spartans will hold their first meet of the season at the Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center on Saturday, Nov. 2 for a morning meet against the University of the Pacific and UC Santa Cruz.
