Women’s golf with a third-place finish in Meadow Club Invitational

San Jose State women’s golf places third in the 12-team tournament at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational Tuesday.

Rutgers University finished first by just two strokes ending with a 287, four over par.

UC Berkeley followed right behind with 289 shots landing them two over the Spartans.

Abegail Arevalo finished fourth with one under 215, which was her sixth top-10 finish this season. The senior also made two birdies and 15 pars during the final round.

Freshman Natasha Andrea Oon was able to accumulate two birdies and 13 pars during the last round and tied for fifth at even-par 216.

Altogether the Spartans made 38 birdies by the end of the tournament. They were also able to shoot a 291, which placed them in third for the final round.

SJSU women’s golfers look forward to their next tournament on March 25 at the March Mayhem at the Farms in Rancho Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
