Breanna Bushey won in 100-butterfly preliminaries and final round as San Jose State swimming and diving competed in the Pac-12 Invitational Swimming and Diving meet in Seattle.

The senior finished with an impressive preliminary time of 53.45 and final time of 53.28.

Bushey finished in first during the preliminary round ahead of UCLA, Washington State and Utah. She beat UCLA’s top swimmer Bonnie Schmitz (59.43) by six seconds in the final event.

So far this season, Bushey has been named 2019 two-time All-Mountain West swimmer and is considered a “B-standard qualifier,” for the NCAA championships, according to San Jose State athletics.

Since joining the Spartans swim team in 2014, Bushey has held the school’s record in 100-butterfly at 53.77, which she achieved during her sophomore season.
San Jose State continues its season in the National Invitational Championships starting on March 13 in Cleveland.
