San Jose State men’s hoops will look to pick up that elusive first conference win on Tuesday in the Event Center when it takes on the University of New Mexico.
After last Saturday’s loss to Air Force, the Spartans will be hungry to pick up a win on the Lobos, who they lost to in their last matchup, 92-60.
SJSU will look to contain sophomore guard Keith McGee. He dropped 20 points in just 20 minutes of action in the last meeting.
Sophomore forward Vance Jackson will be another name to watch for the Lobos as he’s averaging 12.6 points and 7 rebounds this season.
For the Spartans, junior forward Michael Steadman will be the main name to watch in this matchup.
Steadman had one of his best games of the season last Saturday. He dropped his eighth double-double of the year with 21 points and 17 rebounds.
Junior guard Brae Ivey will also be another name to keep track of in Tuesday’s matchup as he had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists against Air Force.
The Spartans will look to play more pesky defense than they did in their last game, as they forced Air Force to turn the ball over no more than five times.
They will also look to take care of the ball more themselves as they had 14 turnovers, which lead to costly buckets from Air Force.
SJSU has lost 17 straight games and will look to make the necessary adjustments.
Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
