As projected, San Jose State tight end Josh Oliver has accepted his summons to the 2019 NFL scouting combine.

The combine will take place in Indianapolis, Ind. beginning on Feb. 26 and will feature 338 NFL prospects showcasing speed, strength and jump based skills.

The announcement comes less than two weeks after participating in this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.

In a combine loaded with tons of talent at the tight end position, the 6-foot-4 built Oliver will be one of 21 and one of only three invited in the Mountain West conference.

As a team leader in pass receptions last season, the 246-pound Oliver exceeds in route running, pass catching and protecting a quarterback.

The big target caught 57 percent of his career receptions during his senior year, in which he finished fifth in the FBS in receiving yards for a tight end with 709.

Also during his senior season with the Spartans, Oliver was honored the John Mackey National TE of the Week award after an 8 reception, 158-yard performance against Hawai’i and was nominated for the same award in the season opener against UC Davis where he caught the same amount of balls for 86 yards.

Oliver is still forecasted to be selected between the fourth and sixth rounds of the NFL Draft, which takes place in Nashville, Tenn. on April 25.

If drafted, Oliver will be San Jose State’s fourth ever tight end off the board and first since 2004 when Courtney Anderson was selected by the Oakland Raiders.
