San Jose State women’s soccer welcomes Colorado State and Wyoming to the Bay Area for its final two Mountain West home matches of the season.
The Spartans (6-5-2, 5-1-1 MW) are 4-0 overall against the Rams (5-5-4, 2-2-2 MW) and 5-2 overall against the Cowgirls (8-3-3, 3-2-1 MW).
Coming off a strong weekend with wins against Nevada and UNLV, the Spartans look to keep their three-game win streak alive.
Freshman defender Haleigh Wynne scored her first and second goals of the season over the weekend and was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.
Senior Paige Simoneau and freshman Kara Burns have shared time in the net and have a combined .69 goals against average per game and 9 goals allowed, the lowest in the conference.
SJSU will first take on the Rams Friday night.
Colorado State junior midfielder Caeley Lordemann leads the herd with three goals and six points on the season.
After Friday night’s game, SJSU faces off against the Cowgirls on Sunday afternoon.
Seniors Annika Clayton and Brittney Stark lead Wyoming with three goals apiece and seven and six points on the year, respectively.
Junior goalkeeper Cristina Salazar has started 14 games in the net for the Cowgirls and ranks seventh in the conference with a .991 goals against average.
The Spartans look to surpass their season-high conference wins throughout their last five games. Their MW record was nine last season when they won the title.
On Sunday’s game, the team will honor the three seniors for their dedication and hard work throughout their time at SJSU.
Thursday’s kick off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and Sunday’s game is at 2:30 p.m.
