The offense kept the pressure on the Roadrunners with 10 shots in the second half, despite coming up empty handed.
CSUB cut the lead to one late in the first half after a header from Niall Owens. The ‘Runners offense put pressure on the Spartans in the second half, placing 11 of the 26 shots on target. SJSU had 16 total shot attempts, seven on goal.
CSU Bakersfield had ball control most of the second half but one guy stopped them, senior goalkeeper Alex Clewis.
With nine more saves in tonight’s game, Clewis leads the WAC with 43 saves. Good for fifth in the conference for a .741 save percentage.
