The San Jose Earthquakes are leaving California for two matches on the road. First up is a battle against Orlando City FC on Saturday.
When the teams met last season at Avaya stadium the result was a 1-1 tie.
However, after two straight draws against the Philadelphia Union and the Houston Dynamo, the San Jose Earthquakes (1-2-2) are still looking for their first win since the season opener.
Next chance for three points for the ‘Quakes is coming up against Orlando City FC (3-2-1) this Saturday. Orlando is in 5th place in the Eastern Conference and is coming off three straight wins.
The San Jose Earthquakes have scored first in their last three games, which have only led two points out of possible nine.
Orlando City finished second to last in the Eastern Conference last year and has had a hard start in this year’s campaign, going winless through the first three matches.
But in its fourth round they beat the New York Red bulls 4-3.
The biggest threat to Orlando to keeping the winning wheel spinning would be ‘Quakes’ winger Magnus Eriksson.
The 28-year-old Swede has has already made himself popular among Earthquakes fans, scoring in the last two matches.
One player that beats Eriksson in that sense, is Orlando’s striker Dom Dwyer.
The 27-year-old Englishman has scored in his last three matches, with his four goals in total, he is just one goal behind being the MLS top scorer so far this season.
The meeting kicks off at Orlando City Stadium at 4.30 p.m.
