Matches vs. UOP and Sac State slated for Saturday

San Jose State’s beach volleyball team heads to Stockton to face University of the Pacific and Sacramento State this weekend.

SJSU (8-11) is 3-3 in their last six matches and their No. 1 duo, senior Nandyala Gama and graduate student Lyndi Scholl (12-7) are on a two-game win streak.

The Spartans will be taking on the hosting Tigers (7-10) first on Saturday morning. UOP is  2-4 in their last six games.

The last time the two teams played was on March 17, and the Tigers took the match 3-2.

UOP’s No. 1 duo Katrin Gotterba and Alex Holt are 12-5 together, leading the team in the victory category.

After the Tigers, SJSU will take on Sacramento State (4-13) who is currently on a three-game win streak. It will be the first and only time the Spartans and Sac State meet this season.

The Hornets main pair duo is Sarah Davis and Mikaela Nocetti, and are 3-14 on the season.

Sacramento has only won 24 of 61 sets played.

First match Saturday morning is slated for 9 a.m. against UOP then noon against Sac State.
