San Jose had all three points two thirds in, but an equalizer from Philadelphia in the 64th minute sent San Jose back west with just one, ending leveled with the Union 1-1.
Just like last weekend, the Earthquakes (1-2-1) had a good start in Saturday’s match, scoring the first goal in the 37th minute.
The goal was scored by Magnus Eriksson and it became his first goal for the club.
The Earthquakes walked off the field after 45 minutes leading by one.
But with the team averaging two goals allowed per game, San Jose knew the match was just getting started.
In the second half, Philadelphia (1-1-2) pushed back the ‘Quakes. With 66 percent ball position and 13 goal attempts, the pressure finally got too hard.
The equalizer came in minute 64 by Alejandro Bedoya, who just like Eriksson, scored his first goal of the season.
The rest of the match became scoreless. San Jose earned its first road point of the season.
Still with their second win in front of them,The Earthquakes will welcome the Houston Dynamo to their home pitch next Saturday.
