It was a record breaking weekend for SJSU’s women’s track & field team at the Mountain West Indoor Championships in Albuquerque.

The Saturday results from the weekend placings showed the names of many Spartans athletes.

Finishing sixth with a personal collegiate best in the triple jump was senior Cambree Harbaugh at 12.34m. Close behind Harbaugh was junior Brittany Brown who finished in eighth. Senior Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw rounded up the Spartans’ placing in the jump in 11th place.

Brown also took fourth place in the 60-hurdles with an 8.48 finish that beat her previous personal record of 8.68.

Freshman Kai Bohannon finished ninth in the 3,000 meters final, leading the way for junior teammate Jeannette Zambrano, who finished in 21st. Bohannon missed eighth place by just a few seconds with her 9:50.07 finish.

UNLV took first at the championships with a total of 99 points and the Spartans came in last with a total of 34.

The outdoor season will begin for SJSU on March 16-17 when the team will head to the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento, Calif.
