It was a quick defeat for San Jose State (12-5, 4-3 MW) on the road against No. 21 Colorado University.
SJSU came out ready to take on Colorado for another win against the Rams, but were unable to get the points they were looking for.
Colorado ended the game quickly for SJSU, finishing each set with scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-22.
The Spartans were hopeful to take down the Rams in the match for a chance to inch closer to first in the Mountain West Conference. With a victory today, Colorado’s win streak improves to seven games, with an undefeated record in conference play.
SJSU is, as of this moment, still tied for second with the University of Wyoming. The two teams will play on Saturday in hopes of obtaining sole possession of second place in the standings.
While it wasn’t a good game for the Spartans as a team, it was however a good game for junior libero Luiza Andrade and senior middle blocker Nandyala Gama. Following the game, Andrade became one of just eight Spartans with 1,000 career digs and Gama became one of 14 with 1,000 career kills.
Leading SJSU in kills tonight was junior outside hitter Giulia Gavio, who had 15 of the team’s 36.
The Spartans will be back on Saturday at 12 p.m. to take on the Cowgirls in Wyoming.
