On Monday, San Jose State Athletic Director Jeff Konya announced that April-Phillips will not be retained as head coach and that the program will “begin an immediate national search for a women’s basketball head coach,” according to a press release from San Jose State Athletics.

Over her three seasons, Phillips finished with a 23-71 record and an 8-46 record in conference play.

The Spartans ended their 2024-2025 season on a seven-game losing streak, including their first-round loss against No. 6 Fresno State 67-62.
